One hundred “Handling the DWI Case in New York” by Peter Gerstenzang, were given out to one hundred police departments throughout New York State.

Continuing full page ads in “STOP-SIGNS”, a quarterly publication produced by the New York State STOP-DWI Coordinators’ Association.

Annually the CBA attended the Mid-Hudson Region of STOP-DWI Coordinators Annual Enforcement – Prosecution Conference and Awards Ceremony.  A certificate is given to each officer who receives an award from the Coordinators for outstanding DWI enforcement. “Top Cop” are selected from all award winners, was given an additional award by CBA.  CBA donates a substantial amount of money to the favorite charity in the name of the “Top Cop.”

The State of New York is changing the breathalyzer being used by all municipal police agencies.  The 900-A model will no longer be manufactured and the new Data Master model, with an infrared instrument, requires new certifications.  The CBA sponsored training on this new instrument in conjunction with the Bureau for Municipal Police.

Long Island MADD (Mother’s Against Drunk Driving) is building the Garden of Awareness Victim Memorial, commemorating all DWI victims, killed or injured in drunk driving crashes.  CBA made a substantial donation towards this worthwhile endeavor.

Annual anti-drunk driving public service announcements are written and produced for distribution to all the radio stations in New York State.  There are two sixty-second spots and one thirty-second spot.

CBA purchased a personal computer, printer, scanner and all the software for the New York State STOP-DWI Coordinators, Association so they can publish their newsletter.  Their newsletter is distributed to thousand of individuals and agencies that work to reduce the incidence of drunk or drugged driving
