The CBA was formed to serve and protect the Police Chiefs of New York State. Police Chiefs were completely unprotected against any adverse action directed at them. While police officers who were the subject of negative actions had immediate access to support and protection through their PBA, police chiefs had no such help. The mission of the New York State Police Chiefs Benevolent Association, Inc. is to support and protect police chiefs when they are targeted for whatever reason!

Since we began helping Police Chiefs across New York State, one of our objectives has been to secure a protection plan of "active members" that would pay for their legal costs should anyone initiate an action against them. The Executive Board has established the first state-wide Fraternal Order of Police Lodge for Chiefs of Police. Your active membership in CBA automatically makes you eligible to be a member of the New York State Police Chiefs Benevolent Association FOP Lodge #154. Through our CBA / FOP Lodge we have available a legal protection plan for all "active members."
